ADEL — The Creston seventh-grade girls gained their second victory of the season here Thursday, holding off ADM 30-27.

Halle Evans scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Panthers. Brianna Fields added seven points and a team-high eight rebounds and made two clutch free throws late in the fourth quarter after ADM had taken a lead. Hannah Dryden scored four points. Notching two each were Macy Adamson, Gracie Hagle and Kate Foglesong. Hagle had a good overall game with three steals and three rebounds. Morgan Driskell contributed three rebounds and two steals.

“I was very proud of the girls’ determination down the stretch after ADM had moved ahead and gained some momentum,” said Creston coach Larry Peterson. “It was a good morale boost for them to come out on top in a tight game like that.”

ADM won the B game 18-10. Dryden scored six points along with four steals and four rebounds. Jalyn Klejch and Macy Wiley each scored two points and Klejch collected four steals. Taylor Seaton had three steals and Foglesong snared a team-high eight rebounds.

“The girls had some steals that didn’t turn into points or we might have made it another exciting finish,” Peterson said. “They showed they are learning and improving.”
