Carmalita Smith, 86, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Oaklawn Church of God in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with the Rev. Terry Arrington officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Online condolences may be left at www.caruth-hale.com.

Carmalita, daughter of John M. and Dorothy E. (Keesler) Devereaux, was born July 16, 1930, in Corning. Carmalita was a member of Oaklawn Church of God in Hot Springs.

Carmalita is survived by her daughter Lynn Miller (Paul) of Hot Springs, Arkansas,; grandchildren, Ann Snyder, Gail Chinnock (Jason), Zach and A.J. Germany; great-grandchildren, T.J. Miller-Snyder, Katherine and Andrew Snyder; son-in-law Kenneth Germany (Shelly) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carmalita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur W. Smith; daughter Suann Germany; four brothers and four sisters.
