Duane Allen Funke, 50, of Bridgewater was charged on an Adair County warrant for second-degree harassment 10:11 a.m., Dec. 25 in Adair County.

Funke was being held on $1,000 bond.

Derek Tomas Hernandez, 19, of Fremont, Nebraska, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia 3:23 p.m. Dec. 26 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers stopped a red Dodge Dakota bearing a Nebraska license plate for a speed violation near the eastbound 90 mile marker on Interstate 80. Officers made a passenger-side approach and the driver rolled down the passenger window. Officers observed an odor of fresh marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

While speaking with the driver, identified as Hernandez, officers observed a pipe in the bottom center console of the vehicle. Officers asked Hernandez to hand it to them, which he did. The pipe contained marijuana residue and he said it was used to smoke marijuana. Hernandez said he also had a pipe located in his backpack located in the rear seat of the vehicle. He said he had some other paraphernalia located in a red tin in the passenger side front seat. He said he also had fresh marijuana and a grinder in his coat pocket. Officers detained Hernandez and retrieved the items.

Officers found one pill bottle with an unknown amount of a green leafy substance Hernandez said was marijuana and a metal grinder containing a green leafy substance. Officers found one razor blade with marijuana residue and two other glass pipes in the red container. Officers located one glass bong wrapped in a plastic sack with marijuana residue in Hernandez’s backpack.

Hernandez was released on his own recognizance.

Christopher Lee Breece, 37, of Bridgewater was charged with driving while barred 10:22 p.m. Dec. 28 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Breece operated a motor vehicle with a driver’s license status of barred on a public road after leaving a business.

Breece was released on $2,000 bond.

T’Lee Jo Jones, 26, of Orient was charged with driving under suspension 11:26 p.m. Dec. 30 in Adair County.

Jones was cited and released.
