Carla Sobotka, 54, of Lenox, formerly of Corning, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Lenox Care Center.

Funeral celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Main St., in Lenox. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials may be directed to Area Bible Fellowship Church in Clearfield. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com.

Carla Marie (Snyder) Sobotka, daughter of Carl Snyder and Ida Marie (Dueling) Snyder, was born Dec. 12, 1961, in Corning. She grew up in Corning where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1980. After graduation, Carla attended Iowa Western College, graduating in 1982 with her RN degree. She worked at various nursing homes and hospitals, finishing her career in Corning.

On Oct. 16, 1989, she married Roger Sobotka. The couple lived in Osceola for a short time, returning to Corning where they lived for a number of years. In 2002, they moved to Lenox.

Carla was a member of Area Bible Fellowship in Clearfield. In 1994, Carla’s health started to decline and she eventually suffered a stroke. She resided at Lenox Care Center until her death.

Carla is survived by her husband of 27 years, Roger Sobotka of Lenox; daughter Nicole Snyder (Mike Schehl) of Lenox; step-daughters, Aimy Corey (David Twig) of Des Moines and Leslie (Jason) Cobb of Cedar Rapids; brother Martin (Terry) Snyder of Van Buren, Arkansas; six grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ida Marie Snyder; son, Casey Ryan who died Feb. 25, 1994; and half-brothers, Carl Snyder Jr., Ronald Snyder, Melvin Snyder and Darwin Snyder.
