Andrew Jon Rhamy, 22, of Prescott, received a citation for unsafe turning or failure to give a signal following an accident 12:14 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South Pine Street and Highway 34.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, Chad Joseph Purdy, 35, of Creston, driving a 1999 Buick, was travelling west on Highway 34 in the inner lane. Rhamy, driving a 1993 semi tractor/trailer, was also travelling west on Highway 34 in the outer lane. Rhamy attempted to turn left onto Pine Street and the middle of his trailer struck the right rear of Purdy’s vehicle. Winesses at the scene confirmed the story Purdy gave. Rhamy said that he was in the inner lane and just went right a little to make the turn.
Damage estimate is $2,000 to Purdy’s vehicle and $500 to Rhamy’s vehicle.
