SWCC event
The annual Southwestern Community College athletic fundraising event will be held Friday, Nov. 11 at the Creston Elks Lodge, 403 W. Montgomery Street.
Refreshments will be served from 6 to 7 p.m. with buffet dinner beginning at 7 p.m. followed by a program by the SWCC coaches at 7:45 p.m. Auction, raffle and door prizes follow.

Youth league
A developmental league for boys and girls in sixth grade will be held by Creston Basketball Association. It is a skill development program organized by Brad Baker, Scott Driskell, Trish Dickinson and Larry McNutt from the school staff in conjunction with head coaches Taylor Phipps and Ryan McKim.
The CBA will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays starting Nov. 7 through Dec. 17. Creston High School coaches and players will be involved in working with the youths on Saturdays, incorporating some game action.
Cost will be $40 per player, which includes a free T-shirt. Checks are payable to CBA. If interested, students may pick up a registration form from the wall rack in the Creston Middle School commons or contact Brad Baker by email at bbaker@crestonschools.org or Scott Driskell at sdriskell@crestonschools.org. Registration and money must be returned to the middle school office by Monday, Oct. 31.
