Colan Kelly Hanner, 31, 300 N. Oak St. Apt. 1, was charged with fifth-degree theft and interference with official acts 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to Wal-Mart for a shoplifter. Hanner was found to be in possession of items that were identified by a Wal-Mart employee. The items had not been paid for and were removed from the original packaging. Hanner refused to give the officers his name or identification.
Hanner was released on a promise to appear.

Shanda Kile, 904 W. Adair St., reported $50 and a bottle of perfume were missing from her purse after she recovered her purse from an incident that occurred Saturday.
Loss estimate is $70.
