Mary Frances King, 84, of Creston died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at her home.

Visitation with family present will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, 1823 N. John Wayne Dr., in Winterset, with funeral services following 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery near Macksburg. Memorials may be directed to HCI Hospice. Mary Frances Hatfield, daughter of Marion and Ruth (Brewer) Hatfield, was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Alabama. She moved to Iowa with her mother when she was 14. She attended Macksburg Schools and graduated from Macksburg High School in 1950.

On Sept. 24, 1950, Mary Frances married John King in Macksburg. Mary Frances was a homemaker, later working as a secretary for an insurance agency and construction business before retiring from bookkeeping at Easters Grocery Store in Creston.

She was a member of Macksburg United Methodist Church.

Mary Frances is survived by her husband of 66 years, John King of Creston; sons, Kevin (Carol) King of Creston and Kim (Margie) King of Burlington; sister Dixie Lee (Mike) Erdman of Winterset; grandchildren, Adam King, Aaron (Lauren) King, Darci King, Roxann (Brady) Bennett and Kole King; great-grandchildren, Bryson King, Brody King, Haley King, Elliott King and Charley Yager; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Frances was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Chet Haymond.
