5 minutes with Brian Morrison, Creston/O-M head football coach

AGE: 41

EDUCATION: Lewis Central High School graduate; Wayne State University graduate with a major in high school special education and minor in coaching

HOMETOWN: Council Bluffs

FAMILY: Wife, Tina; children, Tye and Addison

COACHING EXPERIENCE: This is my 14th year on staff. I’ve been head coach here since 2010.

WHAT’S THE LONGEST YOU’VE GONE WITHOUT SLEEP? I’d say the year we made the (University of Northern Iowa) Dome. It was probably 26 hours.

FAVORITE WARM-UP MUSIC: 2 Pac, Ice Cube – stuff I listened to in high school

WHAT’S ONE THING THAT SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL THAT ISN’T? Consumer math – functional math for kids. I think kids leave high school, and they don’t know how to write a check.

MOST DRAMATIC GAME YOU’VE EVER BEEN A PART OF: Dallas-Center Grimes game that sent the Panthers to the UNI Dome. It would be that game, no doubt. As a player, I would say my senior year when we beat Creston 34-0.

FIRST THOUGHT THE MORNING OF A GAME DAY: There’s a lot of thoughts. I think the focus is just making sure everything is order and we’re prepared.

FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR: Probably first day of summer break

WHAT FOOTBALL-RELATED WEBSITE DO YOU VISIT THE MOST? Probably the Northwest Missouri State Twitter account and their website

FIRST COACHING JOB: I was the defensive coordinator at Earlham.

IN ONE WORD, WHAT DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE UPCOMING GRIDIRON FRIDAY NIGHT? Pride
