Ethylene E. Ray, 91, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in her name.

Ethylene Eleanor Ray, daughter of Joe and Essie Leona (Bullock) Ray, was born July 30, 1925, in rural Thayer. Ethylene attended country school and began sixth grade in the Afton school district graduating with the class of 1942.

After graduation Ethylene and her sister Dorothy moved to San Francisco, California, where she worked in the shipyards as a welder. She then moved back to Creston and worked at Gits Manufacturing Company until her retirement.

Ethylene is survived by her sister Dorothy Brown of Creston and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Ethylene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Keith and Joe Ray and sisters, Grace Ray, Gladys Spainhower and Vera Stream.
