Tori’s Angels holds successful golf tournament

CORNING – Addison Pegg of Corning and Tori Heckman of Guthrie Center started the Tori’s Angels Foundation’s first-ever golf tournament Sept. 24 with the honorary first shot. Forty-eight golfers enjoyed a day of golf and a grilled lunch at Happy Hollow Country Club in Corning with lots of prizes awarded at the end of the afternoon, including a trophy won by Tara Miller.

The golf tournament was held in support of Addison and the children sponsored by Tori’s Angels, a foundation which helps children with life-threatening illnesses. Four-year-old Addison undergoes treatment for pulmonary capillaritis. Eleven-year-old Tori, the foundation’s original recipient, has had many open-heart surgeries to repair a congenital heart defect.

The foundation pays for expenses not covered by insurance, including travel expenses to treatment (airfare or mileage, hotel and meals), as well as medical co-pays and deductibles. The foundation is now supporting 14 children in central Iowa and is always looking for more children to help. The foundation’s board pays all expenses for the running of the organization.

The foundation wishes to sincerely thank everyone who made this tournament a great success, including all donors and supporters, golfers, Happy Hollow Country Club, the planning group and supporters who came for lunch.

Donations are gratefully accepted any time and can be mailed to the foundation’s president, Bill Ridgley, at 4677 Panorama Dr., Panora, IA 50216.
