It appears that our city council does not agree with the statement, “Shop at home and support your local business owner.”
At least it seems that way when we get a letter from an out-of-state insurance company explaining their sewer line insurance policy. A letter which has the city of Creston logo at the top of the letter, which was approved by the council to allow the company to offer the policy and finally signed by the mayor.
A quick phone call to my local insurance agent indicated that most home owners’ policies can include a sewer line rider. If true, then we have a scammer trying to sell a policy not needed.
So what is it? Do we support our local merchants or do we support those out of state scammers?
