Dr. Scott Shuey of Corning receives veterinarian of the year award

CORNING – Dr. Scott Shuey was recognized as Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) Veterinarian of the Year by IVMA President Dr. Jennifer Schleining at the Sept. 9 annual meeting in Ames.

The Veterinarian of the Year award recognizes an IVMA member for his or her outstanding service to the advancement of veterinary medicine, demonstrating outstanding compassion and achievements in advancing the welfare of animals and working to create a positive image for veterinarians in his or her community or the state of Iowa.

Shuey is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, Kansas. He also received his master’s degree in bovine nutrition from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. He is currently an owner and veterinarian of Southern Hills Veterinary Services with clinics in Corning, Creston, Red Oak and Villisca.

IVMA is a nonprofit, member-service organization dedicated to the veterinary profession. IVMA supports member veterinarians and promotes the profession through continuing education, publications and advocacy.
