Danny Jay Blake, 32, of Fontanelle was charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of prescription drug violation 11:49 a.m. Sept. 21 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, after concluding a traffic stop on Blake’s vehicle, Blake was allowed to leave as the vehicle was being impounded. Before the tow service arrived, officers conducted an inventory of the vehicle. While taking photos of the passenger side of the vehicle, officers observed a plastic bag with pill-shaped items inside it. Officers also observed an unknown substance inside a small bag near the pills. Officers stopped the inventory.

Once the tow drive arrived, officers located Blake. Officers told him there was an issue with the inventory and pills were located along with another unknown substance. Officers said they were going to get a search warrant and it could help things go faster if he told them what the items were. Blake said they didn’t need a search warrant and they could just search the vehicle and he would sign a consent-to-search form. He said the pills were muscle relaxers and the other substance was edible marijuana.

Blake was being held on $1,000 bond.
