Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack to be in Creston today

Vilsack to host Rural America and grassroots organizing events across southern Iowa

Today, former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack will campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton across Iowa. Vilsack will host a series of Rural America events across southern Iowa, focusing on Hillary Clinton’s plans to strengthen the Renewable Fuel Standard and investments in rural infrastructure. Vilsack will also host grassroots organizing events and lay out the clear choice for Iowans, who will start voting on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Vilsack will be speaking 3:15 p.m. today in the Memorial Room at the restored Creston Depot, 116 W. Adams St., in Creston.

Clinton has put an emphasis and focus on rural America by promising to strengthen the Renewable Fuel Standard and create a $25 billion national infrastructure bank – leveraging up to an additional $225 billion in federally supported investment for energy, water, broadband, transportation and multi-modal infrastructure projects. Clinton has also committed to delivering the boldest increase in federal infrastructure investment since President Eisenhower built the interstate highway system.

Iowans can start voting Sept. 29 either by mail or at their county auditor’s office.
