Hazel Maharry, 95, of Lenox died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016.

Memorial celebration of life services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Lenox United Methodist Church. There is no visitation prior to services. Interment of ashes will be held at 12:15 p.m. in West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Immediately following the services, everyone is invited to the Lenox Community Center for further celebration of Hazel's life. Memorials may be given in Hazel's name. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Main St., in Lenox.

Hazel Lucille (Wall) Maharry, daughter of Orville and Sadie (Shafer) Wall, was born July 8, 1921. She attended rural school and graduated with the class of 1938 in Clearfield.

On July 14, 1939, she married Gerald (Jerry) Maharry at the Wall farm and were married 77 years. Jerry and Hazel raised their family on a farm north of Clearfield.

In 1963, Clearfield Lions started the shuttle bus service at the Iowa State Fair, and Jerry and Hazel worked and camped at the fair with the Lions for more than 40 years. Hazel was a member of Lenox United Methodist Church and a past Matron of Eastern Star.

Hazel is survived by her husband Gerald; sons, Randall (Janet) of Estes Park, Colorado, Roger (Jeanne) of Ames and Kirk (Diana) of Lenox; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister Luella Wilson of Mount Ayr; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Sadie Wall; brother Richard and grandson Jeremy.
