Hayley Joan Vandel, 23, 600 N. Division St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 4:10 p.m., Monday at Wal-Mart.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St., for a shoplifter. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the offender, Vandel. Vandel tried to take property from Wal-Mart without paying for the items. The items Vandel tried to take were less than $200.
Vandel was released on $300 bond.

Amber Marie Buchanan, 29, 205 N. Division St., was charged with fourth-degree theft 9:54 p.m., Monday at Wal-Mart.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St., for a shoplifter. Officers arrived and met with the offender, Buchanan. Buchanan took merchandise out of the store, put the merchandise in her vehicle, went back into Wal-Mart to get another bag of merchandise and got caught trying to leave the store. Buchanan had a total of $269.79 in merchandise.
Buchanan was released on $1,000 bond.
