CORNING — Another week that rain has made Adams County Speedway cancel its activities for a Saturday night.
With lots of rain, officials and volunteers hoped to put in a show, but Saturday morning showed that there was no way to pull it off.
Adams County Speedway put out the word early so that fans and crews could make alternate plans for their weekend, and it gave many the ability to travel around to some other local tracks for night of fun.
Lots Of Excitement In Store For ACS
This coming Saturday, Sept. 3, on O’Reilly Auto Parts Night the POET Biorefining Modified King of the Hill will be made up from the rainout last week. With that the O’Reilly Auto Parts Late Model King of the Hill will be ran as well. crowning a new or defending driver of the fastest modified of the evening. Late models look to crown a champ after not running the competition last year. Also to he held will be the six regular features of the night. It will sure to be a heck of a show with only two point nights remaining.
Decisions To Be Made
Next week, Saturday Sept. 10, the Keystone Light Kompacts decide who will be the King of the Hill in their competition. Six Adams County Speedway 2016 Track Champions will be decided. The decision for the state of Iowa will be made with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Late Model track champion also taking home the title of NASCAR State Champion as well. The last winner of the Malvern Bank Jackpot with be decided by pairing fans with drivers and getting a shot to win. It will be the last night for drivers to make a decision as to whether or not they want to call out a driver for a grudge race. R&S Auto Sales really “Goes The Extra Mile” with the owning of the pace truck give-a-way being decided on the front stretch at intermission.
Houck with one more surprise for 2016
The friends of Ray Houck came through with a new idea for a way to give back to the drivers in memory of their lost loved one. This year they have come together for the Ray Houck Liberty 50 for the MLRA show, the Ray Houck Memorial Dash during the second SLMR show, and now with this new race as well.
This year the friends of Ray Houck brought a new event to Adams County with the “Junkyard Dog Ray Houck’s Back 40 Bash”. They have put up $433 to go to the best finisher of three separate classes of race cars as they take to the track for the first time ever. At the end of the night at the end of the season on Saturday, Sept. 10, the top eight drivers in hobby stocks, pro-stocks and b-mods will take to the track single file at a chance for cash, glory and bragging rights. This is set to be one of the most epic races Adams County Speedway has seen in years if not ever.
