Gary Weldon Show to perform at Crest Haven

Professional entertainers Gary and Mary Weldon from Moorhead will bring The Gary Weldon Show 2 p.m. Thursday to Crest Haven Care Center in Creston.

Gary is a member of the “Gig Salad Agency,” “Omaha Musicians Association Local 70-558” and has appeared at “Celebrity Impersonators” Convention in Las Vegas. Gary is a crooner and ventriloquist. He has been a professional entertainer for more than 30 years. His wife, Mary, backs him up as his sound technician, wardrobe assistant and handles most of the bookwork for the business end of the act.

Gary sings tribute to such famous crooners as Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Andy Williams and others from the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s. Gary’s little “wooden friend,” Woodstock, has been with him throughout his career. Woodstock sings a tribute to Willie Nelson. Recently, Gary added five new “Little Crooners with Big Voices” to the act. Another recent addition has been a ventriloquist figure of Uncle Sam who leads the audience in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

People from the community are invited to this show. It will be a good time to visit friends at the center and then accompany them to the show.

The Gary Weldon Show is sponsored by State Savings Bank of Creston.
