Vera Moore, 94, of Mount Ayr died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with the Rev. Seth Denney officiating. Burial is in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open viewing will be at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Vera, daughter of John and Lula (Akins) Austin, was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Lorimor. She graduated from Lorimor High School.
On Dec. 7, 1941, she married Jack Moore in Bethany, Missouri. She was a homemaker and partner to her husband.
Vera is survived by her children, Cheryl (Dave) Stuck of Warrensburg, Missouri, Jeannette (Dan) Lutrick of Mount Ayr, Susan (Gary) Fisher of Indianola and Jay (Kim) Moore of Broomfield, Colorado; brother Charles (Janell) Austin of Des Moines; sister Virginia Penfold of Osceola; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack, on June 12, 2011; daughters Barbara Moore and Beverly Moore; son Charles Moore; grandson Caleb Moore and grandson-in-law Tadd Bainum.
