Sheriff

Heather Layne Green, 30, Bedford was charged on a Union County warrant for three counts of prohibited act, schedule I, II or III controlled substance, and tampering with records 6:46 p.m. Monday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, between Feb. 16, 2015 and March 2, 2015, while working as a nurse at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Green took a patient’s own hydrocodone, a schedule II narcotic. The patient had brought the hydrocodone from home and it was locked in a cabinet in the patient’s room that only nurses had access to. Green also took hydrocodone by documenting she had administered it to a patient when in reality she had kept the narcotic for herself.

Green took dilaudid, a schedule II narcotic. Green did this by signing out more dilaudid than was needed for a patient and then not destroying the excess waste dilaudid and keeping it for herself. Green falsified several patients’ drug administration records to conceal the fact she was taking narcotics.

Green was being held in Ringgold County Jail for Union County on $10,000 bond.
