East Union archers impress at Eldora

AFTON — The archery teams from East Union schools participated in the Iowa Outdoor NASP 3D State Tournament in Eldora on August 5.

Volunteer coach Scott Mitchell estimated that around 50 kids at East Union are participating in archery in the schools, and that numbers continue to grow. Coach Dick Stream took a squad of 12 kids to the tournament.

“Archery kids are all pretty dedicated,” Mitchell said. “They’re all at practice, working at it. They want to get better.”
