Dick Baker, 80, of Creston, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 29 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation, with family receiving, will be 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be established. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Richard Eugene Baker, the son of Mona Mae Hewitt and John Lloyd Baker, was born September 19, 1935, in Creston. He was raised in Creston and attended Creston schools. Dick served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

In 1963, Dick married Jo (Quee) Noecker in Thayer, and the couple had one daughter, Lori. They later divorced.

On August 16, 1972, Dick married Bonnie Lee Ergenbright in Grant City, Missouri. He worked for Boortz Wholesale and Bunn-O-Matic until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the South Side Boosters, board member for Creston Park and Recreation and member of Union County Sheriff’s Posse.

Dick is survived by his wife, Bonnie Baker of Creston; two daughters, Lori (husband Robert) Hepp of Cromwell, and Angela (husband Chris) Coke of Creston; son, Doug Frederick of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brother, Larry (wife Phyllis) Baker of North English; four sisters, Margaret (husband Darwin) Hardisty of Corning and Shirley Calvin, Catherine Bristow and Sue Baker, all of Creston; and four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; and brothers-in-law, Kenny Calvin and Riley Bristow.
