Zoey Alexis Van Eaton was a gift from God to the Scott Van Eaton family, born on January 30, 1999, in Creston, Iowa. The majority of her years were spent living at the farm south of Fontanelle with her family and her favorite pup, Prince. Three years ago, she and the family moved to Greenfield. On July 20, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee, while on a motorcycle trip with her dad and brother, Bradley, Zoey was given her angel wings.

From ages 3 to 5 years, Zoey was fortunate enough to be able to live with the Brian Fox family. During this time, Zoey attended many of her cousin’s sporting events and other school activities. The community came to know and love Zoey as one of their own and this has never ceased. That infectious laugh and sassy personality of hers will never fade from those she has touched.

During Zoey’s middle and high school years at Nodaway Valley Community Schools, she enjoyed playing volleyball, participating in FFA activities, and playing multiple instruments in band. She exercised leadership skills that were beyond her years to help keep the band under control. We all know that Zoey marched to the beat of her own drum, and we love her for that.

Zoey worked at Tiger Drive Inn as an ice cream artist for the past three years. Even at work, Zoey’s smile was radiant and her ability to go beyond the call of duty to care was extraordinary. She was willing to donate blood many times and willed her organs to be donated if possible. In her free time, she was busy making memories with her bestie princess, Jordan. Friends and family were everything to Zoey, along with Justin Bieber.

Zoey is survived by her parents, Scott Van Eaton and Mary Dodson of Greenfield; four brothers, Bradley Van Eaton of Nashville, Tennessee, Kaleb Kuonen of Clarinda, Jared Dodson (Kari) of Clio and Nolan Dodson of Ames; three sisters, Kynnady Van Eaton of Greenfield, Jordan Kuonen of Maryville, Missouri, and Brittany Dodson Ewing and Shawn Harmon of Lenox; grandmother, Linda Van Eaton (Jim Dickerson) of Fontanelle; aunt, Lori Fox (Brian) Greenfield; two uncles, Todd Van Eaton (Traci) of Orient and Tim Van Eaton of Orient; and many other relatives, friends and a great community that helped shape her in to an amazing young woman.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Burton Van Eaton.
