Alpha Sigma Master

Alpha Sigma Master of Beta Sigma Phi International met July 28 at Pizza Ranch with Norma Putnam as hostess. After a buffet meal, Cheryl McClure presided at the business meeting. Members answered roll call by telling, “What do you think people lie most about?” Acknowledgement was received for the chapter donation to the state project. Dates of the 2017 state convention were announced. Dorothy Eyberg read from “Invitation to Life,” a section on meaning of several rituals.

Putnam presented a two-part program. Part one addressed the question of why people lie. She cited studies suggesting several reasons, including that it is more acceptable now than previously, and that we “expect” politicians to lie. Ideas were given for combating lying.
