Leo Berry, 81, of Bendena, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at a Kansas City hospital.

Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Bendena, Kansas. Burial will be in St. Benedict's Cemetery in Bendena, Kansas. Rosary will be 5:30 p.m. Friday at the church with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the St. Benedict's Church repair fund. Leo, son of Orrel and Helen (Moranz) Berry, was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Atchison, Kansas. He was a lifelong resident of Bendena where he farmed and worked as a patternmaker.

On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Norma Jean (Jeannie) Schoenfelder in Bendena, Kansas.

Leo was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Bendena, Kansas, Patternmaker Union and served in the Navy National Guard.

Leo is survived by his wife Jeannie; children, Shon Berry (Karen) of Creston, Mary E. Berry (Eric Larson) of Ankeny, Dr. Teresa Berry (Natalie Buster) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Etola Berry of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Deena Burkert, Ryan Riley, Austin Berry, Lindsey Street and Karlee Riley; great-grandchildren, Lila, Leo, Owen Burkert and Lydia Street and sisters, Helen Lutz and Mary Carnahan, both of Branson, Missouri.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; sister Clara Clements; and brothers, Charles, James and Eugene Berry.
