Regional SB Pairings announced

The regional pairings are now out for all five classes in softball.

In Class 2A, Southwest Valley opens Region 8 play at AHST-Walnut on July 5. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. in Avoca. The winner is at Earlham on July 6 at 7 p.m.

In the other half of the draw, sixth-ranked Interstate 35 opens at home against West Central Valley. The regional semifinal is set for July 8 at 7 p.m. in Truro.

In the lower part of the draw, Trey hosts Tri-Center in one matchup. Missouri Valley hosts the winner of Underwood and Council Bluffs St. Albert. The regional semifinal is set for July 8 at 7 p.m. in Treynor. The regional final will be held on Monday, July 11 at a location to be determined.

In Class 1A, Nodaway Valley is in Region 2. The Wolverines open on July 5 at home against Grandview Christian. The winner is at Glidden-Ralston on July 6 with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m. in Gladden.

In the other half of the draw, fourth-ranked Newell-Fonda hosts the winner of Guthrie Center and Coon Rapids-Bayard on July 6 in Fonda. The regional semifinal is set for Friday, July 8 in Fonda.

In the bottom side of the bracket, 14th-ranked Bishop Garrigan hosts the winner of Northwood-Kensett and West Hancock in the opening round. Rockford hosts North Iowa in one matchup, while Colo-NESCO and CAL, Latimer, meet up in another first-round contest. The regional semifinal there will be on July 8 in Algona at Bishop Garrigan.

The regional final will be at the highest remaining seed on Monday, July 11.

In Class 3A, Clarke, ranked 13th, opens up against Bondurant-Farrar on July 6 in Osceola. The winner takes on either North Polk or Chariton on July 8 in Osceola.

On the other side of the draw, 12th-ranked CMB hosts PCM, while 14th-ranked Saydel hosts Central Decatur. The regional semifinal is on July 8 in Collins.

The regional final will be on July 11 at the highest remaining seed.
