Correction: An incomplete list of distinguished scholars for the Creston/O-M boys golf team was published in Tuesday’s CNA sports section. Gavin Sickels was one of seven boys golfers who received distinguished scholar honors.
Mount Ayr Softball Classic
The 2016 Mount Ayr Softball Classic will be host to 11 games total over the course of Wednesday June 29 and Saturday July 2.
The schedule is as follows:
On Wednesday: Mount Ayr will play Orient-Macksburg at 1:30 p.m.. At 3 p.m., Lenox will face Clarinda. At 4:30 p.m., Wayne will take on Essex. At 6 p.m., Martensdale-St. Marys will play Murray, followed by the host Raiderettes against West Central Valley at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Mount Ayr opens the day against Clarinda at 10:30 a.m. At noon, the Cardinals take on Murray. At 1:30 p.m., Murray and Orient-Macksburg meet up. At 3 p.m., Lenox and Orient-Macksburg will square off. At 4:30 p.m., Lenox and Sidney will face off. The tournament will close with Mount Ayr taking on Sidney.
Admisssion is $5 for adults and $3 for students and is good all day. No conference passes will be accepted.
Player of game plaque will be awarded to one player on the winning team at the conclusion of each game.
