Dake, Burr plan August wedding

Bruce and Sue Dake of Creston announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Brooke Dake of Adair to Matt Burr of Ankeny, son of Jim and Maribeth Burr of Guthrie Center.

Dake is a 2001 graduate of Creston High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music education in 2006 and a Master of Science degree in music education in 2012 at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. She is currently employed as band director at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center schools in Adair.

Burr is a 2002 graduate of Guthrie Center High School in Guthrie Center. He attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He is currently employed as merchandiser with Acosta Sales and Marketing in Urbandale.

The couple plan an Aug. 6 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Creston.
