AFTON — Juleen and Mark Krings of Savage, Minnesota, and Gary Loomis of Afton announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Lindsay Loomis to Matt Thelen, both of Afton, son of Kathy Skarda of Creston and Rick Thelen of Lenox.
Loomis is a 2003 graduate of Creston High School. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines in 2006. Loomis is currently employed as marketing manager at Mercer in Des Moines.
Thelen is a 2002 graduate of East Union High School in Afton. He graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 2007. Thelen is currently employed as environmental engineer at Fansteel/Wellman Dynamics.
The couple plan a July 30 wedding.
