Angel Daub, 25, of Creston, formerly of Shannon City, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in rural Union County from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, in Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Iowa Army National Guard. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 2, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Angel Nichole Daub, daughter of Winn Ann Daub, was born Sept. 24, 1990, in Creston. She graduated from East Union High school in 2009 and attended Indian Hills Community College from 2009-11. Angel then continued her education at University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 2014.

Angel completed combat medic training and has worked as an EMT for Adair County Hospital and lived in Creston for the past four months. She was a frequent blood donor, and while in school was in National Honor Society, speech and soccer. In college, she volunteered as a soccer coach, and participated in band, vocal, drama, softball, basketball, track and volleyball. On May 2, 2014, she joined the National Guard.

Angel is survived by her mother Winn (step-father Dale) Thornton of Shannon City; grandfather Irvin Froit of Shannon City; grandparents, Dale (Kathy) Thornton of Omaha, Nebraska; step-brothers, Wayne Thornton of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Dale Thornton of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; step-sister Sheila (Adam) Poppe of Lincoln, Nebraska; special friend Jason Wortman of Shannon City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Angel was preceded in death by her father Ronald Lilly and grandmother Wanda Froit.
