Nodaway Valley 61, SE Warren 39

GREENFIELD — Nodaway Valley pulled away early here Friday in a 61-39 win over Southeast Warren.

The Wolverines led 18-5 after the first quarter and 37-12 at halftime.

Josie Clarke shot 9 of 11 from the field and scored 18 points to go with eight rebounds and two steals in the win. Paige McElfish scored 10 points with six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jodi Baudler scored nine points with two assists.

Mercedes Harter, Addie Lamb and Jessica Nelson all scored six points apiece, with Harter grabbing five rebounds. Brianna Lilly scored four points and Annie Herr added two points.

Stanton 49,

Lenox 29

STANTON — Lenox fell to Stanton 49-29 here Monday in a non-conference game.

Jacy Stoaks scored eight points with four rebounds and three assists to lead the Tigers in the loss. Mika Weaver added five points and seven rebounds, while Brooke Miller had five points and five boards. Morgan Parrish scored five points with four rebounds.

Mount Ayr 68, Pleasantville 39

MOUNT AYR — Mount Ayr shared the ball well here Friday in a 68-39 win over Pleasantville.

The Raiderettes dished out 20 assists on 25 made baskets.

Kelcie Shields had a big game for Mount Ayr with 30 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 12 of 17 from the floor. Macy Larsen added 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Tess Shields scored 11 points with five assists, three steals and four rebounds. Megan Warin finished with eight points, six rebounds and four assists.

Blair Glendenning dished out six assists to lead Mount Ayr in that category.

Central Decatur 78, SW Valley 53

CORNING — Southwest Valley couldn’t keep pace with Central Decatur here Friday in a 78-53 loss to the Cardinals.

Central Decatur scored 57 points in the first half, including 37 in the first quarter.

“Central Decatur came out on fire and we just couldn’t keep up,” Southwest Valley head coach Allen Naugle said. “We played hard the entire game and tried to fight to keep up, but were unable to.”

Morgan Shuey led Southwest Valley with 11 points, while Danica Sunderman added 10. Sydney Damewood and Miah Hummel each scored seven points, with Damewood pulling down four rebounds.

Shelby Nelson scored six points and Kaitlyn Schad finished with five points. Elizabeth Herzberg contributed four points and three rebounds to go with five blocked shots. Shanna Saunders had three points with a team-high five rebounds.

Red Oak 65, SW Valley 57

CORNING — A seven-minute long drought sank Southwest Valley here Monday in a 65-57 loss to Red Oak.

“We got off to a good start in the game, but then hit a dry steak for about seven minutes,” Southwest Valley head coach Allen Naugle said. “We put ourselves in a tough situation. I was very proud of how hard the girls played and how they fought back.”

Morgan Shuey scored 20 points to lead the Timberwolves, adding four assists and four steals. Katie Taylor scored eight points with five steals and Danica Sunderman scored seven points with four rebounds.

Kaitlyn Schad scored five points with four steals and Elizabeth Herzberg also tallied five points. Sydney Damewood, Miah Hummel and Payton Thomas all scored four points apiece. Hummel grabbed four rebounds.

SW Valley 68, East Union 32

AFTON — Southwest Valley outscored East Union 21-3 in the first quarter here Tuesday on its way to a 68-32 win over the Eagles.

“We were able to force a lot of turnovers with our press and with our halfcourt defense, which turned into a lot of easy scoring opportunities,” Southwest Valley head coach Allen Naugle said.

Morgan Shuey scored 24 points to go with seven steals for the Timberwolves, while Katie Taylor added 14 points and four steals with seven rebounds. Miah Hummel scored 12 points with five rebounds. Sydney Damewood scored seven points with four rebounds. Danica Sunderman finished with six points and six rebounds with three steals.

Olivia Eckels scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead East Union. Callie Gossman added eight points. Lauren Mitchell finished with six points and Shaylee Cooper scored four, with Amber Selim and Sidney McFee scoring three points each.

Mount Ayr 73, Lenox 16

LENOX — Mount Ayr shot better than 50 percent from the field here Tuesday in a 73-16 win over Lenox.

The Raiderettes assisted on 25 of 27 made baskets in the game. Blair Glendenning and Tess Shields each had five assists. Megan Warin, Caylie Hickman and Macy Larsen each assisted on three field goals.

Kelcie Shields scored 25 points and finished with nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Sara Winemiller scored 12 points off the bench with seven rebounds. Warin scored 11 points and had a team-high four steals.

Tess Shields scored nine points with five rebounds. Larsen scored six points and Hickman added four points, Kirsten Dolecheck scored two points.

Morgan Parrish led Lenox with six points, while Jacy Stoaks had four points and two rebounds.

Bedford 59, Nodaway Valley 42

GREENFIELD — Bedford outscored Nodaway Valley 37-16 in the second half here Tuesday to post a 59-42 win over the Wolverines.

Turnovers and points off turnovers were the biggest difference, with Nodaway Valley committing 27 turnovers and Bedford scoring 22 points off those turnovers. Nodaway Valley scored just two points off turnovers.

Josie Clarke scored 20 points with 12 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Nodaway Valley. Jessica Nelson added 15 points and five rebounds. Mercedes Harter finished with four points and Paige McElfish scored three points with nine rebounds.
