Interstate 35 66, East Union 21

TRURO — Interstate 35 girls improved to 18-2 with a 66-21 victory over East Union Friday night.

Slye Richardson went 5-of-9 from 3-point range in scoring 25 points along with seven steals and four assists for the Roadrunners. Gracey Griglione had 15 points and seven rebounds for I-35, and Riley Morris finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Sidney McFee scored 10 points for East Union (0-20). Callie Gossman finished with five points and four steals.

Bedford 58,

East Union 29

BEDFORD — Callie Calfee had 17 points with five steals and five rebounds in Bedford’s 58-29 victory over East Union in a makeup game Saturday night.

McKenzie Jackson contributed 12 points with three steals for Bedford (16-4). Charissa Mogler added 11 points and five rebounds.

Callie Gossman led East Union with 14 points. Sidney McFee had seven points and seven rebounds. Kacie Ripper finished with five points and nine rebounds.

Diagonal 45,

DIAGONAL — Katie Sobotka scored 14 points and Emily Newton added 10 points in DIagonal’s 45-31 victory over Ankeny Christian Academy Thursday night.

Allison Norris grabbed nine rebounds for Diagonal (11-7) and Cassidy Lohmann handed out five assists while gathering a team-high three steals.

Michaela Crider scored seven points for Ankeny Christian (5-14).

Murray 49, Moulton-Udell 34

MOULTON — Murray outscored Moulton-Udell 13-7 in the fourth quarter in defeating Moulton-Udell Thursday night, 49-34.

Shelby Myers had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Murray. Madison Gonseth added 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Mustangs improved to 12-5 and 8-2 in the Bluegrass Conference.

Kendra Leer scored 10 points for Moulton-Udell (7-11, 4-7).

Murray 49, Orient-Macksburg 25

MURRAY — Madison Gonseth scored 22 points as Murray beat Orient-Macksburg, 49-25, on senior night Friday in the Jerry Brown Gymnasium.

Ally Waske had six points and seven rebounds for Murray, Shelby Myers had nine rebounds and four points. Katie Otto and McKenzie McIntosh each had five assists.

Shyla Waldhauser scored 11 points for Orient-Macksburg (3-16). Cameo Walker had six points.

Grand View Christian 20, Murray 37

ANKENY — Megan Stubbs scored 14 points and Emily Hurley added 12 as Grand View Christian stayed unbeaten in the Bluegrass Conference (11-0) and 19-0 overall.

Madison Gonseth had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Murray, which ended a stretch of three games in three nights at 9-3 in the league and 13-6 overall. Shelby Myers nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Katie Otto grabbed fie rebounds.

“We gave the number eight team in the state all they wanted,” said Murray coach Jerry Shields. “We actually outshot them from the field, but again the free throw line is what cost us (3-12). We were down one with a minute to go, but they stepped up and made their free throws. We did hold the second-leading scorer in the state to 18 points below her average.”

Murray is host to Mormon Trail at 7 p.m. Thursday to open regional play.

MSM 48, Lenox 23

MARTENSDALE — Martensdale-St. Marys took a 21-2 halftime lead in beating the Lenox girls Friday night, 48-23.

Riley Verwers scored 13 points and Ashley Kraber added 12 for the Blue Devils (11-9).

Mika Weaver had seven points and seven rebounds for Lenox (4-13). Brooke Miller added six points and six rebounds. Jacy Stoaks finished with four points and six rebounds and Halee Wallace grabbed six rebounds.
