ATLANTIC — Adams County Speedway won an award of its own here on Jan. 16 at the track’s annual postseason awards banquet, held at the Cass County Community Center.

Adams County Speedway won the 2015 Most Fan Friendly Track Award from Psycho Billy Cadillac Tour.

Among the award winners at the banquet were Paul Glendenning of Mount Ayr and Matt McAtee of Creston, who were championship winners. Glen Hoyt of Creston received a special award, as did the Carlisle family — father David, daughter Dusti and son Dillon, all of Shannon City.

Focus now shifts to the 2016 season at Adams County Speedway, which will include a few changes.

Jim Wilson of Gilman City, Mo., has been hired as the chief race steward, while Les Helvie of Corning and Josh Russell have been hired as assistant race stewards.

Wilson brings a vast amount of experience in running Late Model touring series. He directed the NASCAR Late Model Touring Series for 17 years before starting his own series — the World Dirt Racing League.
