5 Minutes with Keith Worland

New executive director at Southern Prairie YMCA in Creston

FAMILY: Wife Katie and 6-month-old daughter Izzy

AGE: 33

HOMETOWN: St. Louis, Missouri

GOALS AS DIRECTOR OF THE YMCA: I want to bring more families to the Y and more youth programs. We had a family fun night at my last job, some with theme nights, which resulted in a cool bonding experience for the community where families are doing some things away from technology.

FAVORITE FAMILY VACATION: I was 18. My parents took my two brothers and I on a vacation to Mexico. It was a resort between Playa del Carmen and Cancun.

WHEN DID YOU AND YOUR WIFE BECOME FOSTER PARENTS? Two years ago. We've had seven foster children during that time. Izzy is our youngest. We picked her up at the hospital at 12 days old. We've had a 15-year-old and everything in between.

SUPER BOWL PREDICTION: I'm cheering for the Broncos. That means they're going to lose. I will never cheer for the Broncos again if Peyton (Manning) doesn't retire, though.

FAVORITE PART ABOUT SUPER BOWL SUNDAY: The game

FIRST THOUGHT WHEN YOU WOKE UP THIS MORNING: I shouldn't call my wife. It's too early. It was 5:50.

ONE THING THAT SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL THAT ISN'T ALREADY: Car maintenance. Triple A might not be there someday.

SELF-CHECKOUT OR CASHIER: Whichever is faster

WHAT'S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I've always wanted to go to a St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Also, I want to take my wife to Key West, Florida. She's never been there.
