Ronald Cooper, 90, of Creston died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Celebration of life services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, in Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are to Greater Regional Hospice Home. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Ronald James Cooper, son of Elsie Marie (Carter) Cooper and Oda Cooper, was born May 8, 1925, in Clarke County.

On June 21, 1947, Ron married Doris J. Campbell in Hiawatha, Kansas. They relocated to Des Moines where Ron worked for Omar Bakery driving the delivery truck. In 1960, they moved to California where he and Doris worked at Rockwell International, retiring in 1980. Ron and Doris owned and operated a mini storage from 1983 to 1988 in Arroyo Grande, California. They lived in Rogers, Arkansas, for 18 years before moving to Creston on March 1, 2006.

Ron is survived by his daughter Rhonda L. (Doug) Miller of Creston; son Larry W. (Linda) Cooper of Apple Valley, California; grandchildren, Gentry Miller of West Des Moines, Travis Miller of Creston, Shawna (Brett) Peterson of Waukee, Casie (Jason) Klejch of Creston and Jennifer (Dustin) Brewer of Salt Lake City, Utah; great-grandsons, Vincent Brewer and Camden Klejch; and extended family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by wife Doris in 2010 and other beloved family members.
