Vernon “Sonny” King, 74, died Nov. 28, 2015, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston.
Sonny was cremated and celebration of life services will be held later. His cremains will be interred at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at Van Meter after those services. Vernon “Sonny” King, son of Glen and Mary (Stringham) King, was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Mount Ayr. Sonny graduated from high school. He served his country in the U.S. Army for three years and six months. He was with John Deere in Afton and had his own construction company.
Sonny is survived by a brother and many friends.
