Adair County Health System CEO resigns

GREENFIELD — Adair County Health System (ACHS) has received the resignation of CEO Angela Mortoza. Mortoza has been with ACHS for four years.

Mortoza has accepted a CEO position at Dallas County Hospital in Perry and will remain at Adair County Health System until March 1.

During her time at ACHS, she has made great strides in bringing new services to the community, increased patient satisfaction and quality scores, and improved employee satisfaction.

“Angela has served the communities of Adair County well by expanding the services at our facilities,” said Willard Olesen, chairman of the Adair County Health System board of trustees. “She has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of care that we are able to offer our patients. In addition, Angela has led our initiative to provide a state-of-the-art surgical suite, which gives us the opportunity to provide even more services to our loyal patrons. We appreciate very much all efforts Angela has made on our behalf and wish her all the best as she returns to her hometown of Perry.”

“Perry is my hometown, and I am excited about the opportunity to work there,” said Mortoza. “However, it was a hard decision to make, as I will miss the caring staff, patients and community that I have been a part of the past four years. I want to thank the community for welcoming me and supporting me as we strived towards providing quality health care in Adair County.”

Mike Trachta, vice president with Mercy Health Network, will be working with the board of trustees on recruiting the next ACHS CEO.

“The CEO position is important to an organization,” Trachta said. “I am confident that with the help of the board of trustees and leadership team at ACHS, we will find a qualified candidate that is fit for your community.”
