Dorothy Clough, 74, of Sun Valley Lake in Ellston, died Nov. 13, 2015, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr due to a bad fall caused by Alzheimer’s.

Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni with the Rev. Bruce Giese officiating. Open viewing will be held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., in Mount Ayr on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials are to Tingley mealsite and Ellston United Methodist Women. Dorothy, daughter of Cecil and Mary (Hummel) Dukeshier, was born Sept.13, 1941, in Shenandoah.

On Aug. 6, 1960, Dorothy married Al Clough at Grace Methodist Church in Des Moines. They lived a few years in Creston and Corning before moving to and living on a farm near Lamoni for many years. They raised livestock and thoroughbred horses, which they raced at Prairie Meadows and other tracks. Dorothy worked several years at O’Brien’s sewing factory in Leon. She was a member of Ellston United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Al; daughter Candee (Kirk) Parkhurst of Fremont, Michigan; sons, Calvin (Bonnie) Clough of Wichita, Kansas and Samuel Clough of Osceola; grandchildren, Brett Parkhurst, Hannah Clough, Katie Parkhurst, Mathew Clough and Kara Clough; sister Esther (Don) Welch of Salem, Oregon; brother Jim Dukeshier of Essex; other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; 7 year-old daughter Carla and her brother John.
