The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced the 2015 State Qualifying Meet assignments on Thursday.
Creston will travel to Glenwood on Oct. 22 for the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet.
The Glenwood State Qualifying Meet includes three ranked teams on the boys side and two ranked teams, plus a team to watch on the girls side.
Dallas Center-Grimes (fourth), Harlan (sixth) and Winterset (13th) are all ranked on the boys side, while Dallas Center-Grimes (seventh) and Denison-Schleswig (12th) are in the girls rankings. Harlan is listed as a team to watch.
The Glenwood site also includes six ranked individual runners, led by Creston senior Cooper McDermott (ninth). Also ranked are Alex Thompson (12th) and Tyler Borneman (29th) of Dallas Center-Grimes, Curtis Harryman (13th) of Winterset, David Salazar (22nd) of Denison-Schleswig and Michael Sciranko (24th) of Harlan.
There are five ranked girls runners at the Glenwood State Qualifying Meet, highlighted by Dallas Center-Grimes sophomore Lexi Smith (fifth). Also ranked are Denison-Schleswig sophomore Ellie Mendlik (ninth), Atlantic senior Tiffany Williams (12th), Dallas Center-Grimes freshman Sami Sterbenz (23rd) and Denison-Schleswig freshman Reagan Anderson (27th).
In Class 1A, top-ranked Nodaway Valley highlights a list of teams traveling to Treynor. Ninth-ranked Panorama and 13th-ranked Tri-Center are also in the Treynor State Qualifying Meet.
The Treynor site includes 11 ranked boys individual runners, including second-ranked Zach Ambrose of Boyer Valley, fourth-ranked Shane Breheny of Nodaway Valley and 30th-ranked Jacob Bolinger of Lenox.
There are five ranked girls individuals at the Treynor State Qualifying Meet, highlighted by Nodaway Valley senior Destiny Scar, ranked sixth. Eighth-ranked Panorama and 14th-ranked Exira/EHK are the only ranked girls teams going to Treynor.
