Jeff Bierle Creston

Jeff Bierle, 53, of Creston died Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015, at CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Pastor Chuck Spindler will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Open visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a college fund that is to be established for his daughter Shannon. Online condolences may be left under the obituary category of www.powersfh.com.

Jeffrey Lloyd Bierle was born Jan. 14, 1962 in Yankton, South Dakota to Cheryl June (Nelles) and Duane Harold Bierle. He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Missouri in 1980. He continued his education at Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Missouri, where he played football. He got his welding certificate at a tech school in Bethany, Missouri.

Jeff worked for Vanmark and then moved to St. Louis and worked for St. Louis Barrell of Fun potato chip factory as maintenance manager. After returning to Creston, he worked for Houcks Salvage in Carl, then owned and operated Bierle Backhoe and Trenching.

On April 26, 2001, Jeff was united in marriage to Laura Virginia Fanny Merrill in Creston at the Jerusalem Church. They later divorced. Jeff was an active outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting, trail riding, spending time with his daughter and particularly enjoyed being the camp cook whenever he could. He was also a member of the Crest Baptist Church, Creston Eagle’s Lodge, Whitetails Unlimited, Shooting Club Small Rifle instructor and was involved with AA, NA and Celebrate Recovery.

Survivors include his two daughters, Shannon Bierle of Creston and Candace Kakuda of Clarinda; a son Justen Kakuda of Phoenix, Arizona; parents, Duane and Cheryl Bierle of Creston; two brothers, Steve Bierle of Liberty, Missouri and Doug (wife Nichole) Bierle of Creston; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
