Greater Regional and Mercy Cancer Center add physician

Greater Regional Cancer Center, affiliated with the Mercy Cancer Center in Des Moines, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Sarah McAvoy, M.D., to the radiation oncology team of physicians. McAvoy plans to begin providing services at the Greater Regional Cancer Center in the near future.

McAvoy obtained her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and recently completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas – MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. McAvoy’s special areas of study include the treatment of central nervous system (including brain and spine), thoracic and gynecologic cancers. She also specializes in the use of stereotactic radiosurgery/stereotactic body radiotherapy. McAvoy joins the team of radiation oncologists, Philip J. Colletier, MD; John M. Martens, MD; Richard L. Deming, MD; George H. Voynov, MD and Dev R. Puri, MD; caring for patients in Creston.
