Icaria campground

CORNING — Due to scheduled construction projects, both of the Lake Icaria campgrounds and the cabins will be closed after Labor Day, Sept. 8.

Construction projects will include campground renovations, new shower houses, restrooms additions on cabins, and a sewer line installation from the park to the city of Corning. In order to let the contractors get started, the Adams County Conservation Board decided to shut both campgrounds down for the fall.

“We hope to be up and running again by Memorial Day Weekend in May of 2016,” said Dan Carl, Adams County Conservation Board director.

Total cost of the projects will be approximately $2.8 million.

The Lake itself, boat ramps, beach, and marina, will remain open through the construction period. Bear in mind: any restroom or building that has a flush toilet or that relies on the current sewer system will not be open. The beach concession will serve breakfast on Sunday mornings through Sept. 13. The bait house and marina will be open on weekends.
