Shirley Sevier - Macksburg

Shirley Joan Sevier, 74, died at her home in Macksburg on Aug. 21, 2015.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Aug. 25, at Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with Mr. Phil Price officiating. The family greeted friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at the funeral home, 101 S.E. Shirley was born March 3, 1941 to Cecil and Eva (Vandewater) Clark. Shirley married Larry Sevier on Aug. 6, 1958.

Shirley was a strong woman who loved her family. When Shirley was a young girl, she had a love for horses that grew into a passion even after she met her husband and had children. As a family, they spent much of their time on trail rides and showing horses. She also enjoyed camping and showing rabbits. Shirley loved the outdoors and varieties of beautiful flowers and hanging baskets. She loved sharing her life, full of excitement, stories and beauty, with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew she loved them with very few words.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Jerry and wife Teri Jo and Ronald; daughter Brenda Edwards and husband Todd; grandchildren, Jodi Haley, Ashley Simpson, Travis Sevier, Chelsea Graham, Cody Whaley, Chantel Sevier, Michael Waddingham, Nichlos Sprague and T’Lee Jones and 15 great-grandchildren.
