August is the month for the membership drive for the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library support many events which benefit our library and community. Some of these events are guest speakers, financial support for the library, reading programs for youth and adults, the used book sale and Scholastic book sale, to name a few.
A community is judged by its amenities, of which the library is one. To me, supporting the Friends of the Library is supporting our library and promoting our community.
