Lanning promoted at ISSB

Iowa State Savings Bank recently added a familiar name and face to its Consumer Branch lending staff: Roger Lanning. Lanning has joined ISSBee’s team as a real estate and consumer loan officer. Lanning adds his seven years of consumer and real estate lending experience to the experienced ISSB lending team. In addition, Lanning brings the perspective of a much longer presence in the area business community, having worked for 17 years at the Creston News Advertiser where he supervised the advertising department, and prior to that for four years as manager of Spurgeon’s Department Store. Lanning is a University of Iowa graduate.

Lanning is already on the job at ISSB, making consumer real estate loans at the bank’s Taylor Street consumer branch on Highway 34 in south Creston. He works under supervision of Ty Rogers, ISSB senior vice president of consumer lending. It is a relationship familiar to both. Rogers was formerly President of First Federal Saving Bank. He expressed pleasure that Lanning has joined him at ISSB.

“Roger will be a great asset for our bank. He brings with him a reputation of providing great customer service and knowledge of the real estate and banking industry,” Rogers said.

Lanning and Rogers are not alone in having migrated to the employee-owned, local institution. ISSB customer service representative Chris Linderman also worked with Lanning and Rogers at First Federal Savings Bank (now PCSB) before joining the ISSBee team.

“Roger is a family and community oriented person,” said Linderman. “It will be great to have him represent Iowa State Savings Bank as both a dedicated, knowledgeable loan officer and as a leading team player in and for the community. I know current and new loan customers will enjoy the friendly, professional service he provides.”

Lanning is an active participant in the Creston community, working with organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce and Creston Airport Commission. He is current chairperson of the Southwest Iowa Hot Air Balloon Days. Lanning is married to wife Julie, and the couple has two sons, Matthew and Eric.

“I look forward to opportunities at Iowa State Savings Bank for helping people achieve their financial dreams,” said Lanning.
