Kevin Eugene Stark, 46, of Adair was charged on an Iowa Department of Corrections warrant for violation of probation 12:09 a.m. Wednesday in Adair County.

Stark was released on $2,000 bond.

Garret Evan Geary, 19, 1003 S. Sumner St. Apt. 14, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia 3:28 a.m. Thursday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers stopped a vehicle for registration violation. During the traffic stop, officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers asked Geary if there were any illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Geary admitted to having a marijuana grinder in the vehicle. Upon further search of the vehicle, a rolled marijuana cigarette and marijuana residue was located.

Geary was released on $1,000 bond.

Justin Paul Parker, 33, of Adair was charged with third-offense assault and willful serious injury 7:53 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a female victim was strangled by both hands impeding the normal breathing or circulation of blood, punched in the head and then her hand was held down by Parker, who then sliced her palm deeply, cutting her tendons and further requiring plastic surgery. This injury has caused impairment of the function of her hand. The female victim and Parker do not reside with each other currently, but have resided together within the past year.

Parker was released on $10,000 bond.

Toni Marie VanScoy, 18, 210 S. Birch St., was charged with driving while revoked 1:47 a.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a vehicle was stopped for having a headlight out at the intersection of 310th Street and Henry A. Wallace Road. After officers made contact with the driver, VanScoy, she said her license was revoked because of a violation of Iowa code. After verifying the statement of VanScoy, she was charged.

VanScoy was released on $1,000 bond.

Karen Ann Fritz, 59, of Oakland was charged with forgery 4:07 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

Fritz was transported to Cass County.

Michael John Kidder, 42, of Red Oak was charged with driving under suspension 4:50 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

Kidder was cited and released.

Patrick Lawrence Nolte, 31, of Stuart was charged with driving while barred 5:25 p.m.Saturday in Adair County.

Nolte was cited and released.

Scott William Harry, 56, of Orient was charged with operating while intoxicated 11:50 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a vehicle was observed driving in the lane of oncoming traffic. Officers turned the patrol vehicle around, and also viewed the vehicle did not have a functioning registration lamp. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Orange Avenue. Harry’s vehicle came to a stop at the entrance of the Orient Lake campgrounds. Upon making contact with Harry, the driver, officers noticed he was unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot and watery eyes and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Harry agreed to field sobriety testing, and had failing scores on all his tests. Harry consented to a preliminary breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol content of .08 or above.

Harry was released on $1,000 bond.
