Delma Bittner, 89, of Creston, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center in Creston, IA.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox, Ia. Pastor David Tebbenkamp will officiate.

Burial will be in West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox, Ia.

Open visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be given at www.powersfh.com.

Delma Mae Bittner was born August 25, 1925 in Lenox to Hally Myrtle (Baker) Ambrose and Clarence Ambrose. She graduated from Cromwell High School in 1943. On June 30, 1943 Delma was united in marriage to Edward T. Bittner. They settled in the Creston area where she was an active mother and farm wife. Delma was an active member of several different card clubs; throughout the years, she enjoyed playing music at the Chicken Inn and at the area nursing homes to entertain the residents.

Delma is survived by her two sons, Randall (wife Linda) Bittner of St. Charles, Ia. and Charlie Bittner of Creston; two brothers, Russell E. Ambrose and Eldon E. Ambrose; a sister Helen Reidell; a grandson, Charlie Bittner, Jr., five-step grandchildren, Camdin Cooper, Angela Cooper, Xavier Cooper, Kelvin Cooper and Kimberly Stowell.

Delma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Bittner in 2005, a brother Lyle E. Ambrose, a sister Fern Ambrose and an infant daughter Linda K. Bittner.
