Nodaway Valley 11, SW Valley 1

CORNING — Paige McElfish had a big game for Nodaway Valley here Tuesday in an 11-1 win over Southwest Valley.

McElfish finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored, a double and a home run, with three RBI. In the pitching circle, she gave up just two hits and one walk, while striking out 10.

Mercedes Harter and Josie Clarke each added two RBI, while Kadee Eblen drove in one run. Harter hit a double.

For Southwest Valley, Kim Hults and Allie Bronner each recorded a base hit. Kiara Roberts took the loss.

Murray 6,

Melcher-Dallas 5

MELCHER — Murray scored three runs on only one hit in the fifth inning to secure a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Melcher-Dallas here on Tuesday.

Melcher-Dallas committed five errors in the inning.

“Melcher-Dallas played very well and we were very fortunate to pull out the win,” Murray head coach Danny Jensen said. “Sometimes it is OK to be lucky.”

Zadie Hatfield and Brandi Gilbert each hit a triple and Kayla Wookey drove in one run in the win. McKenzie McIntosh finished 2-for-4 in the game with two runs scored.

Breianna Klein picked up the win, giving up five runs on seven hits with five walks and seven strikeouts.

Murray improved to 22-4 for the season with the win.
