The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the Class 1A and 2A district baseball pairings Wednesday.
Area 1A teams are all in District 14 or District 13, with the winner of those districts meeting in substate play July 21 at Winterset. The lone rated team in that field is No. 5 Martensdale-St. Marys, which opens at home July 14 against Mount Ayr.
Murray is a possible district semifinal opponent of the Blue Devils. Lenox, East Union and Bedford are on the opposite side of that District 14 bracket and one could be a district final opponent July 18 at St. Marys.
Van Meter was receiving ranking votes earlier in the season and is in District 13 along with Orient-Macksburg and Nodaway Valley, which meet in the July 14 opener at 5 p.m. at Earlham.
In Class 2A, Des Moines Christian is receiving ratings votes and is in District 12 along with Southwest Valley, Interstate 35 and Osceola Clarke. The substate game against the winner of District 11 is scheduled July 21 at Indianola.

Final, July 18 — at West Central Valley, Stuart.
District 11
First round, July 11 — Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont vs. PCM, Monroe at Albia; Pella Christian vs. Central Decatur, 5 p.m. at Albia.
Semifinals, July 14 — Davis County vs. EBF or PCM, 5 p.m. at Albia; Pella Christian or Central Decatur at Albia.
Final, July 18 — at Albia.
Substate 6 final — District 11 winner vs. District 12 winner at Indianola.
